Heart of England Rail Rover -
Sunday
Rounding off the record
breaking week - Home Station : Worcester Shrub Hill
As there were no trains leaving Ledbury on a Sunday until the
afternoon, I headed to Great Malvern by car and then started my
journey to Oxford. I was extremly lucky, as my connection at
Oxford (the train to bring me back), meant that I only had 2
minutes to change trains. I arrived late at Oxford. I managed to
catch the other train as the other train was running late.To
break through the 2000 mile barrier, I had to go up the
Birmingham line and back and that meant going to Kidderminster.
There are a lot of engineering works on Sunday, so my route via
Hereford to Shrewsbury and Stourbridge Junction to Birmingham New
Street were replaced by buses. After 7 days later, I have come to
an end of my long train journey.
